3 BOVINE SMUGGLERS ARRESTED, 15 BOVINES RESCUED, VEHICLE SEIZED BY SAMBA POLICE

Samba, March 10: Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has today foiled bovine smuggling attempt in the early morning hours, arrested three bovine smuggler, rescued fifteen bovines and seized truck in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal.

A Police team of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO Police Station Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW naka Tapyal, signalled to stop a truck bearing registration number JK03F-4511 coming from Kathua side for checking. But the driver of the vehicle accelerated the speed endangering the life of police personnel on naka duty and hit the vehicle with naka road barrier causing damage to it. The alert cops successfully intercepted the vehicle and during checking fifteen bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.

The bovine smugglers identified as Razak Ahmed S/o Altaf Hussain R/o Usdara, Trigam, tehsil and district Kishtwar, Yaqoob Ali S/o Mohd Hussain R/o Jeora Chakrohi tehsil R.S. Pura district Jammu and Mir Sain S/o Sheru Ali R/o Airwan district Kathua have been arrested and the truck used for illegal transportation of bovines has also been seized.

A case FIR No. 30/2024 U/S 188, 336 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 3 PDPP Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
