6 BOVINE SMUGGLERS ARRESTED, 34 BOVINES RESCUED IN TWO MAJOR BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPTS, FOILED BY SAMBA POLICE

Samba, April 14: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police in successive day has foiled two major bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal, arrested six bovine smugglers, rescued thirty four bovines and seized two vehicles used in the transportation of bovines.

A Police party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO Police Station Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at naka NHW Tapyal, signalled to stop a truck bearing registration number HR38T-4734 coming from Kathua side for checking. But the driver of the vehicle accelerated the speed and hit the vehicle with naka road barrier causing damage to it. The alert cops successfully intercepted the vehicle and during checking fifteen bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.

The two bovine smugglers identified as Razak Ahmed S/o Altaf Hussain R/o Usdara,Trigam Kishtwar and Dalwar Khan S/o Mohammed Lamber R/o Kottli Mein Fateh RS Pura Jammu have been arrested.

A case FIR No.44/2024 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act, 3 PDPP Act, 50/52/54 Transport of Animals Rules has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.

Likewise, a police party of Police Post Rajpura headed by Incharge PP Rajpura has successfully foiled another major bovine smuggling attempt, arrested four bovine smugglers, rescued nineteen bovines and seized a vehicle bearing registration No.JK03F-5957 which was being used for transportation of bovines without any vaild permission.

 The four arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Nisar Ahmed S/o Ghulam Qadir Khgan R/o Rakhi Bra Shangus District Anantnag A/P Bathindi Jammu, Sahil Ahmed Choudhary S/o Mohd Ashraf Choudhary R/o Mazum Qazikund Tehsil Dooru District Anantnag A/P Samba, Shah Amin S/o Ghulam Rasool R/o Karloop Tehsil Marh District Jammu and Subhan Ali S/o Shah Mohd R/o Juthana district Kathua.
