7.6-magnitude earthquake hits western Japan: Tsunami warnings issued
Tsunami warnings were issued in Japan on Monday after a 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck around 42 km Northeast of the town of Anamizu, the USGS said. The coastal regions of Ishikawa, Niigata and Toyama prefectures have been alerted for tsunami by the Japan Meteorological Agency, Reuters reported. Tremors were felt in Tokyo, reports said. Government said they are checking for any irregularities at nuclear power plants.
