8 GOVT AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS PARTICIPATED IN GRAND ANTI- DRUGS AWARENESS PROGRAMME ORGANISED BY POLICE AT TELI BASTI

POLICE PROCEEDING STRATEGICALLY TO WIPE OUT DRUG MENACE : SSP BENAM TOSH

Samba, September 19 : Eight Government and private schools participated in grand anti- drugs awareness programme organised by police under Civic Action Programme at Teli Basti, Bari Brahmana where hundreds of parents, teachers, prominent citizens, social workers, PRIs and police officers were present. SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar and SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma presented certificates and cash rewards of rupees 12000.00, 8000.00 and 5000.00 to the first, second and third best student speakers namely Initya of GHSS Smailpur, Anshita Verma of National Public High School Patti and Saneha Vishawakarma of GHS Bari Brahmana respectively whereas five other student speakers namely Nidhi Balla, Rashmi, Anshika Sharma, Istakar Ali and Sonia Malik bagged certificates & consolation cash rewards of rupees 2000.00 each. Hundreds of students of Govt. Higher Secondary School Smailpur, Govt. High School Bari Brahmana, Govt. Middle School Bari Brahmana, National Public School Shah Talab, National Public High School Patti, N.S.K. High School Bari Brahmana, Sher-e-Kashmir Public Higher Secondary School Bari Brahmana and Tagore Public School Bari Brahmana participated in today’s anti-drug awareness programme.

Chairman Teli Welfare Association Majid Hussain, President Teli Welfare Association Sadiq Hussain, Chairman Sher-e-Kashmir Public Higher Secondary School Qadar Hussain and Principal Sher-e-Kashmir Public Higher Secondary School Nagma Malik thanked the police for organizing grand anti-drug awareness programme at Teli Basti to generate awareness among students and public against drug abuse. Additional SP Samba also spoke on the occasion and asked youth to stay away from narcotic substances. On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that Police is proceeding strategically to wipe out drug menace in Samba district and all kinds of conspiracies being hatched by smugglers & suppliers of heroin to continue illicit drug trafficking would be unearthed and perpetrators of narco-trade would be nabbed and put behind bars in ‘hawalats’ & jails under stringent provisions of law. SSP Samba further said that police is organizing awareness programmes like symposiums, seminars and debates at different schools and colleges with the objective of creating anti-narcotic awareness among students, youth, parents, guardians, relatives and making it a mass movement against drugs especially heroin called “chitta”. Benam Tosh informed that Police would organize more such awareness programmes, cultural events & sports activities in Samba district in near future.
