Police arrests drug peddler in Shopian, contraband substance & cash recovered
September 09: Police in Shopian have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance and cash from his possession. A Police party of Police Station Zainapora at a checkpoint established at Durpora Zainapora arrested a drug peddler identified as Bilal Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohammad Shaban Sheikh resident of Urpora Nagbal. During search, 920 grams of Charas and cash amount of ₹79,200 (believed to be proceeds of narcotics) was recovered from his possession. He has been shifted to police station where he remain in custody. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 80/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Zainapora and investigation has been initiated.People are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood.
