BJP Leader Tarun Chugh Accuses Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah of Echoing Pakistan’s Narrative

Jammu, September 19, 2024: BJP National General Secretary and Jammu & Kashmir Incharge, Tarun Chugh, has launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah, accusing them of aligning with Pakistan’s narrative. Chugh alleged that both leaders are “dancing to the tunes of Pakistan” and working as “puppets” for foreign interests in the sensitive region of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a strongly worded statement, Chugh said, “The recent remarks by Pakistan’s Defence Minister make it clear that Rahul Gandhi and Farooq Abdullah speak the language of Pakistan and act on their signals. NC-Congress are functioning in J&K as extensions of Pakistan’s propaganda, working against the nation’s unity.”

This sharp criticism comes at a crucial time as Jammu and Kashmir prepares for the upcoming Assembly elections. The BJP is positioning itself as the defender of India’s sovereignty, often accusing its political rivals of compromising national interests. Chugh’s remarks are likely to escalate tensions between the BJP and its opponents in the region, as the NC-Congress alliance continues to push for greater autonomy for J&K, a stance that the BJP has consistently opposed.

The BJP has reiterated its commitment to strengthening India’s sovereignty in Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on development and national security, while accusing the NC-Congress of fostering narratives that align with Pakistan’s interests.

Observers view these comments as part of a broader strategy by the BJP to frame the upcoming elections in Jammu and Kashmir as a contest between national unity and separatist-leaning ideologies.

The NC and Congress have not yet responded to these allegations.
