Assembly Elections-2024 Phase-II:26 assembly constituencies records 54 % polling till 5:00 pm
During Phase-II of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024, 54% voter turnout was recorded across 26 assembly constituencies as of 5:00 PM on September 25. This phase saw peaceful polling in districts such as Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal in Kashmir, and Poonch, Rajouri, and Reasi in Jammu. The highest turnout was noted in Reasi at 71.81%, while Srinagar saw the lowest at 27.37%.The Election Commission commended the incident-free polling process, attributing the strong security measures to the success. A notable feature of this phase was the voting facilities for Kashmiri migrant voters and first-time young voters, who were seen actively participating in the democratic process. The Election Commission had also introduced various accessibility features, including home voting for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
