Drug Bust in Kathua: Police Apprehend Individual with Heroin-Like Substance
Kathua, October 4, 2024: In a significant operation, the Police Party of Police Post (PP) Marheen, along with Border Police Post (BPP) Lachipur, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajbagh, successfully apprehended an individual involved in drug possession. The police had set up a naka at Manyari Chowk near the Panchayat Ghar in Sector Chadwal.The accused has been identified as Rana, son of Kaju, a resident of Bathal Chak, Tehsil Marheen, District Kathua, currently residing in Maniyari. During the search, the police recovered approximately 11-12 grams of a heroin-like substance, commonly known as Chitta, from his possession.Rana was immediately taken to the Police Post Marheen for further investigation, and legal proceedings have been initiated.The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the Kathua Police to curb drug trafficking in the region and safeguard the community from the menace of narcotics. Further investigations are underway to determine the source of the drugs and possible links to larger drug networks.
