Omar Abdullah, after meeting Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhavan on October 11, 2024, officially staked his claim to form the new government in Jammu and Kashmir. He submitted letters of support from the Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), CPI(M), and independent candidates. Omar requested the LG to schedule the oath-taking ceremony soon, with the hope of holding it by October 16.
