Felicitation Ceremony for Newly Elected MLAs Held at BJP Headquarters Jammu

Jammu, October 14, 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a grand felicitation ceremony at its Jammu headquarters to honor the newly elected MLAs from the region. The event was attended by senior party leaders, workers, and supporters, marking a moment of celebration and renewed commitment towards the party’s developmental agenda for Jammu and Kashmir.

The ceremony was presided over by prominent BJP leaders, who congratulated the elected representatives and emphasized their role in ensuring good governance and addressing public concerns. They urged the MLAs to work tirelessly for the welfare of the people and strengthen the party’s presence across the Union Territory.

Ravinder Raina, President of the BJP in Jammu and Kashmir, formally welcomed 29 newly elected BJP MLAs at the party headquarters in Jammu. This election marked a significant moment for the BJP, as it achieved its largest-ever presence in the J&K Assembly. Raina attributed the party’s success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, along with the guidance of BJP President J.P. Nadda. Although Raina himself lost the Nowshera seat to the National Conference (NC) candidate Surinder Choudhary, he expressed optimism about the BJP’s role in the Assembly. The BJP aims to form a government by securing support from independent candidates and like-minded parties. A key focus now is the selection of the BJP’s legislative party leader, with figures such as Sunil Kumar Sharma and Devinder Rana emerging as potential candidates for the position. The BJP also expects to assume the role of the Leader of the Opposition, as NC is set to form the government with support from Congress, CPI-M, AAP, and independent MLAs. The formal swearing-in of Omar Abdullah’s government is anticipated.

The event concluded with a series of discussions on future initiatives, followed by a vote of thanks to all participants. Party workers expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming legislative session, hoping for significant progress under the BJP’s leadership in Jammu and Kashmir.
