Punjab Police successfully dismantled a major drug trafficking network, seizing 105 kg of heroin in an intelligence-led operation in Amritsar. According to DGP Gaurav Yadav, the operation was carried out by the State Special Operations Cell and led to the arrest of two suspects, Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar. Authorities have confirmed the involvement of Navpreet Singh, a narcotics smuggler based in Turkey, in the case. The drugs are believed to have been transported from Pakistan using a water route, with rubber tubes recovered during the operation as evidence.Apart from the heroin, the police also seized 31.93 kg of caffeine anhydrous, firearms including foreign-made pistols, and other contraband materials. FIRs have been registered, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further connections and participants in the smuggling network.
