Jammu, J&K, 5 December 2024 – In a significant effort to bolster security and coordination along the Indo-Pak border, DIG JKS Range Jammu, Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS), conducted a joint patrolling exercise in the Pargwal area on Wednesday. Accompanying him were SSP Jammu Joginder Singh, SP Rural Brijesh, SDPO Domana Mudassir, and officers from the Border Security Force (BSF).
The patrol focused on the boundary divided by the River Chenab in the strategically sensitive Chicken Neck area. During the exercise, the security and border management grid of key villages, including Gardkhal, Malabella, Sohan, and Kanachak, were reviewed.
The team inspected nallahs, rivers, canals, and the Sua area to identify potential vulnerabilities in the region’s security. They also interacted with local residents to enhance police-public coordination and encourage the timely sharing of information with law enforcement authorities.
DIG Sharma emphasized the importance of a robust border management system to ensure safety and prevent cross-border threats. He lauded the efforts of BSF and police personnel in maintaining vigilance and urged locals to remain proactive in reporting suspicious activities.
The initiative highlights the commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, in collaboration with BSF, to safeguard the region’s peace and security amidst prevailing challenges.
