IT Department Conducts Surprise Inspections of CSCs in Jammu and Kashmir
Jammu, December 9: In a significant move to curb malpractices, the Jammu and Kashmir IT Department, under the directions of Minister for Information Technology Satish Sharma, conducted surprise inspections at various Common Service Centres (CSCs) across the region.
The inspections are part of a broader initiative to crack down on CSCs reportedly overcharging citizens for services. Minister Sharma has issued strict instructions to the concerned authorities to take stringent action against centers found violating the notified rates, emphasizing the government’s commitment to protecting the interests of the common masses.
“The government will not tolerate any exploitation of citizens. All CSCs must adhere to the prescribed rates, failing which strict action will be taken,” the minister stated.
The J&K administration has been implementing a robust monitoring and regulatory mechanism to ensure transparency and accountability in the operation of CSCs, which serve as critical touchpoints for delivering various government and private services to the public.
Authorities have urged citizens to report any instances of overcharging or irregularities at CSCs, assuring swift action against offenders.
