SAMBA POLICE FOILED TWO BOVINE SMUGGLING BIDS; RESCUED 17 BOVINES, SEIZED 2 VEHICLES

Samba, January 16: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police in successive day has foiled two bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur and Police Station Ghagwal, rescued seventeen bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers and seized two vehicles used for illegal transportation of bovines.

A Police team headed by SHO Police Station Vijaypur while performing vehicle checking duty during special naka established at Jakh, intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK14G-0065 for checking. During checking of the vehicle, twelve bovines were found laden inside which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission. All the rescued bovines have been shifted to a safer place.

A case FIR No. 08/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at PS Vijaypur and investigation started.

Similarly in another incident, a Police team headed by SHO PS Ghagwal intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration No.JK02DA-9772 for its checking at naka NHW Tapyal and rescued five bovines which were being transported illegally without any valid permission.

A case FIR No. 08/2025 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
