Udhampur Police Seizes 16 Boxes of Illegal Liquor, Arrests Bootlegger
Udhampur, Jan 21: In a major crackdown on illegal activities, Udhampur Police seized 16 boxes containing 776 bottles of illicit liquor during a routine check within the jurisdiction of Police Post Roun-Domail.
According to officials, the seizure was made during a surprise inspection when the contraband was discovered. The accused, identified as Shotu Ram, a resident of Bhatyari, Ramnagar, was apprehended on the spot.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Excise Act and initiated further investigations to trace the source and network involved in the illicit trade.
The authorities reaffirmed their commitment to curbing illegal activities and urged the public to report any suspicious activities to maintain law and order in the region.
