Omar Abdullah Assures Development Focus on Neglected Areas During Meeting with Padar Delegation
Jammu, January 23: National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah met with a delegation from Padar, led by District Development Council (DDC) Kishtwar Chairperson Smt. Puja Thakur, to discuss the pressing issues faced by the people of the region. The delegation highlighted several developmental challenges and sought immediate attention to resolve them.
Omar Abdullah assured the delegation of swift action to address their concerns. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to ensuring equitable development for historically neglected areas like Padar, Dachan, and Marwa, which, he stated, have suffered due to a lack of attention from non-NC governments since 2014.
“These regions have immense potential, but their progress has been stymied by neglect. The National Conference is determined to bring these areas back into the fold of development and ensure their rightful place in Jammu and Kashmir’s growth story,” Omar Abdullah said.
The delegation raised issues related to basic infrastructure, road connectivity, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities in Padar and surrounding areas. Omar Abdullah assured the delegation that these issues would be prioritized and addressed through collaborative efforts with local representatives and administrative authorities.
Smt. Puja Thakur expressed gratitude to the NC leader for his patient hearing and his assurance of focused development.
