Minister Sakeena Itoo Inaugurates Cath Lab & Block-A at MMABM Associated Hospital, GMC Anantnag

Anantnag, February 20, 2025 – In a significant milestone for healthcare in South Kashmir and the Pir Panjal region, Minister Sakeena Itoo inaugurated the state-of-the-art Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) and Block-A at MMABM Associated Hospital, Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag. With this, GMC Anantnag becomes the first among the newly established GMCs to have a dedicated Cath Lab, marking a major advancement in cardiac care for the region.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Minister Sakeena Itoo highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and ensuring access to advanced medical facilities in remote areas. “The launch of the Cath Lab is a transformative step for the people of South Kashmir and the Pir Panjal region. Patients requiring advanced cardiac procedures will now have access to world-class care closer to home, reducing the need for travel to distant cities,” she said.

The newly inaugurated Block-A will house multiple departments and provide enhanced patient care facilities, further augmenting the hospital’s capacity to deliver specialized treatments.

Principal of GMC Anantnag, Dr. [Name], expressed gratitude to the government for its support, emphasizing that the Cath Lab will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating complex cardiac conditions, including angiography and angioplasty.
