J&K Police Seize Properties of Five Hizbul Mujahideen Operatives in Ramban

Ramban, March 1 – In a major crackdown on terror funding, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized immovable properties belonging to five operatives of the banned terrorist outfit Hizbul Mujahideen in the Gool area of Ramban district, an official spokesperson said on Friday.
The five individuals—Saraj Din (48) of Sangaldan, Reyaz Ahmed (45) of Dalwah, Farooq Ahmed (46) of Banj Bhimdassa, and Mohd Ashraf (50) and Mushtaq Ahmed (47) of Moila—had crossed over to Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) and were operating from there. Intelligence reports indicated that they were attempting to sell these assets to finance terror activities in the region.
Major Setback for Terror Funding
The police spokesperson described the seizure as a decisive step in dismantling the terror funding network and preventing the resurgence of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.
“It sends a strong message to terrorists operating from PoJK that their attempts to revive terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir will not be tolerated,” the official stated.
The seizure order, issued by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in Gool, prevents any sale, lease, or transaction involving these properties without clearance from law enforcement authorities.
Crackdown on Exfiltrated Terrorists
According to police sources, these individuals had crossed into PoJK for arms training and were involved in attempts to radicalize local youth and fund militancy. Their families will now face legal and financial restrictions to prevent any indirect support for militant activities.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has been actively cracking down on terror financing, overground worker (OGW) networks, and exfiltrated terrorists, significantly weakening militant operations in the region.
This latest action aligns with the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, reinforcing security forces’ commitment to ensuring long-term peace, stability, and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
