High Avalanche Warning Issued for Several Districts in J&K

March 1, 2025 — The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a high-level avalanche warning for parts of Jammu and Kashmir, cautioning that avalanche activity is likely above 2500 meters in the next 24 hours.
The affected districts include Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, and Reasi. Residents, travelers, and tourists in these regions are advised to avoid high-altitude areas and stay updated with official advisories.
Authorities have urged people to stay vigilant and report emergencies by dialing 112 (JK-UT-DMA).
“Stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and follow safety protocols,” said officials from the J&K Disaster Management Authority.
The warning comes amid fresh snowfall and changing weather conditions across the region.
