After Viral Video, 20 Arrested in Bari Brahmana for Drug Trafficking: Sent to Kathua Jail
A video that went viral on social media on Tuesday morning exposed the rampant drug trade in the Balole Khad area of Bari Brahmana. In the video, four young men shared their experiences, revealing that drug dealers operate fearlessly, without any fear of the police or administration.
Following the video’s circulation, Bari Brahmana Police Station in-charge, Pushpendra Singh, led a team to raid drug hotspots, including Balole Khad. During the operation, 20 suspects were arrested from various locations. A search of the suspects led to the recovery of syringes, silver paper, and other drug-related items.
The arrested individuals were transported to Bari Brahmana in a bus and presented before the Tehsildar. After undergoing medical examinations, they were sent to Kathua Jail.
The arrested individuals include Gulshan Kumar, Vivek Singh, Rajkumar, Ajit Kumar, Kushab Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Mohammad Abid Ganei, Amir Mehmood Khan, Sunil Kumar, Joseph Khokhar, Deepak Khajuria, Aniket Anand, Avil Anand, Vimal Kaul, Rahul Thakur, and Rohit Gupta.
Speaking on the matter, Bari Brahmana Police Station in-charge Pushpendra Singh stated that frequent raids are conducted in drug-prone areas to curb narcotics abuse. On Tuesday, multiple raids led to the arrest of 20 individuals, all of whom were sent to Kathua Jail.
DSP Pradeep Singh emphasized that the initiative aims to crack down on drug-related crimes and rehabilitate those involved in substance abuse.
