OGW Booked Under PSA in Doda, Shifted to Udhampur Jail: Police

Srinagar, Apr 11 Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda have booked under Public Safety Act, and subsequently shifted the detainee to Udhampur jail.
“In a firm move to curb anti-social activities, Doda Police has booked an Over Ground Worker (OGW) under the Public Safety Act (PSA). The accused, identified as Mohd Rafi alias Pinka, son of Gh Qadir Sheikh and a resident of Phagsoo, Doda, has been shifted to District Jail Udhampur,” a media statement reads.
“According to official sources, Mohd Rafi was involved in activities that threatened public peace and aimed to create communal tension in Thathri and nearby areas. His actions were seen as a threat to the law and order situation in the region,” reads the statement, as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin.
“Taking note of his continued involvement in such activities, a preventive detention order was issued under Section 8 of the PSA 1978. The order, dated April 10, 2025, was signed by the District Magistrate of Doda,” reads the statement.
“The police stated that such actions are necessary to maintain peace and prevent any further disturbance in the region. Authorities have assured the public that strict measures will continue against elements involved in disturbing public harmony,” the statement further reads.
