Farooq Abdullah Expresses Concern Over Ramban Landslide Tragedy: Urges Government Action

Ramban, April 21 — National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has expressed deep concern over the recent landslide in a village in Ramban district that claimed three lives. Calling it a “major disaster,” as it claimed a whole villaget, Abdullah extended his condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized the urgent need for government intervention.
In a statement, Abdullah urged both the central and state governments to take swift measures for relief and rehabilitation in the affected area. “This tragic incident highlights the need for better disaster preparedness and infrastructure in vulnerable regions like Ramban. I urge the Prime Minister to personally look into the matter and ensure necessary support reaches the victims,” he said.
The landslide, which occurred following heavy rainfall, has left several families displaced and damaged local infrastructure. Rescue and relief operations are currently underway. Authorities are assessing the full extent of the damage and planning further response actions.
