In a second strike within 24 hours, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for a deadly attack on a Pakistani Army vehicle in the Machkund area of Bolan, Balochistan. The BLA’s Special Tactical Operations Squad (STOS) targeted the military vehicle using a remote-controlled improvised explosive device (IED), completely destroying it and claiming the lives of seven soldiers.

The attack, reported on May 8, 2025, emphasised on the escalating violence in Balochistan, where separatist groups like the BLA have intensified their operations against Pakistani security forces. The group alleges that the Pakistani military is an “occupying force” exploiting the region’s resources, a claim that fuels their ongoing insurgency for Balochistan’s independence.

No official statement from the Pakistani military has been referenced to confirm the casualty figures or details of the attack. The BLA’s claims remain unverified independently. This incident follows a series of recent attacks in the region, highlighting the persistent unrest and deepening tensions between Baloch separatists and the Pakistani state.
