Javid Dar Reaffirms Commitment to Rural Empowerment, Urges Transparent Governance
Srinagar, May 17, 2025: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Javid Dar, reiterated the government’s dedication to rural empowerment during a high-level review meeting today. Emphasizing efficient and transparent governance, Dar called for stronger coordination between officials and legislators to ensure effective implementation of rural welfare schemes.
Highlighting the record achievements under flagship programs like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), and Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G), the minister underscored their transformative impact on rural communities.
Dar directed officers to prioritize grassroots-level planning and focus on public welfare to bridge developmental gaps. “Our goal is to empower every rural household through inclusive and accountable governance,” he stated, urging officials to ensure schemes reach the last mile with maximum efficiency.
The minister’s call for enhanced coordination and transparency aims to further strengthen rural development initiatives, aligning with the government’s vision of sustainable and equitable growth.
