5 marla land will be provided to landless families in Jammu and Kashmir: LG Manoj Sinha

Five marlas of land each will be provided to all landless families in Jammu and Kashmir and houses will be provided to about two lakh destitute people under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. This announcement was made by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in an interaction with journalists at Raj Bhavan on Monday. We have discussed this issue in detail in the Administrative Council. A detailed discussion has also taken place with the Revenue Department and the Rural Development Department and only after that we have decided that all the landless families of Jammu and Kashmir will be given five marlas of land. To be given

Till now we have been given land to 2711 landless families and rest of the families will be given land only. Similarly, there are 199550 families in the state who do not have houses to live in. All these families are being given houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
