Exam Pattern: The MPPSC State Services Exam is conducted in three stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
  2. Main Exam (Written Test)

Preliminary Exam:

  • The preliminary exam consists of two papers: General Studies (GS) and General Aptitude Test (GAT).
  • Both papers are objective type and carry 200 marks each.
  • The total duration of the exam is 4 hours.
  • There is a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer.

Main Exam:

  • The main exam consists of six papers, out of which four are compulsory and two are optional.
  • The four compulsory papers are General Studies-I, General Studies-II, General Studies-III, and General Studies-IV.
  • The optional papers can be chosen from a list of subjects provided by the commission.
  • Each paper carries 200 marks and the total duration of the exam is 18 hours.

Interview:

  • Candidates who qualify the main exam are called for an interview.
  • The interview carries 175 marks.

Salary: The salary of candidates selected through the MPPSC State Services Exam varies depending on the post they are selected for. The pay scale ranges from Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100 with grade pay ranging from Rs. 5,400 to Rs. 9,000.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as on 1st January of the year in which they are applying.
  • They must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories may be eligible for age relaxation as per government rules.

Syllabus: The syllabus for the MPPSC State Services Exam is as follows:

Preliminary Exam:

  • General Studies: History and Culture, Geography, Polity and Administration, Economy, Environment, Science and Technology, and Current Affairs.
  • General Aptitude Test: Comprehension, Interpersonal Skills, Logical Reasoning and Analytical Ability, Decision Making and Problem Solving, General Mental Ability, Basic Numeracy, Data Interpretation, and Hindi Language Comprehension Skills.

Main Exam:
