SSP SAMBA BENAM TOSH PRESENTED CASH REWARDS OF RS. 40,000 TO STUDENTS AT GORAN: POLICE ORGANIZED DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAMME
Samba, September 22 : Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh today presented cash rewards of rupees forty thousand & certificates to the student speakers of five Govt. schools who delivered speeches and presented impressive item at the grand anti-drug awareness programme organized by police under Civic Action Programme at remote Govt. Higher Secondary School Goran where hundreds of students of Govt. schools, parents, teachers, prominent citizens, PRIs and police officers were present. SSP Samba Benam Tosh was accompanied by Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary, Deputy SP Garu Ram, SHO Police Station Samba Daljit Singh and Incharge Police Post Goran ASI Ashok Kumar while presenting certificates and cash rewards of rupees 12000.00, 8000.00 and 5000.00 to the first, second and third best student speakers namely Nitika Dogra of GHSS Goran, Sonia Devi of GHSS Goran and Velinder Singh of GHSS Goran respectively and rupees 2000.00 & certificate each to five other student speakers namely Shevani Devi, Arti Devi, Sonia Devi, Lakshmi Devi and Arun Singh. Rupees 5000.00 was also given to the team of students who presented an impressive item on drug abuse. Hundreds of students of Govt. Higher Secondary School Goran, Govt. High School Samotha, Govt. Middle School Souram, Govt. Middle School Khabbal, and Govt. Middle School Bain Bebati participated in today’s anti-drug awareness programme. Sarpanch Baletar Suraj Parkash Verma and Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Goran Kulbir Singh thanked the police for organizing grand anti-drug awareness programmes at Goran to generate awareness among students and public against drug abuse. Additional SP Samba also spoke on the occasion and asked youth to stay away from narcotic substances. On the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh exhorted the students to stay away from drugs and adopt firm determination to become pure, pious and virtuous in life so as to become better citizen of tomorrow. He inspired the students to go for higher and professional education transcending all odds in life and to stay away from bad company and bad books. SSP Samba further said that police-students relations have been strengthened in Samba, as police is organizing series of anti-drugs programmes like symposiums, seminars and debates at different schools and colleges with the objective of creating anti-narcotic awareness among students, youth, parents, guardians, relatives and making it a mass movement against drugs especially heroin called “chitta”. Benam Tosh informed that Police would organize more such awareness programmes, cultural events & sports activities in Samba district in near future.
