Reasi Police tighten noose on drug peddlers: 02 notorious drug peddlers arrested
Continuing the drive against drug abuse launched by District Police Reasi. Police arrested 02 notorious drug peddlers and recovered 3.31 gm Heroin (Chitta) from their possession.
Police party of Police Station Reasi apprehended one person namely Kulbir Singh S/O Lt. Rattan Singh R/O Dharan Tehsil Thakrakote District Reasi and from his possession 1 gram heroin/Chitta recovered.
In this regard, case FIR No. 218/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS act registered at P/S Reasi and investigation initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages. During the investigation a backward link is zeroed and further raids were conducted at in which main drug peddler namely Nasir Ahmed S/O Mohd Ghani R/O Badori, Bari Brahmana arrested and 2.31 gm Heroin recovered from his possession.
The whole operation is led by SHO Reasi Inspr. Vijay Sharma under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi Sh. Neeraj Padyar-JKPS.
While sharing the details Sr. Superintendent of Police Reasi Amit Gupta -JKPS conveyed that Reasi police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from the area.
SSP further added that people from all sections of the society should come forward and join hands with Police to strengthen anti-narcotics drive of District Police and also inform police on dedicated anti drug helpline number 9070907017 regarding any information pertaining to drug abuse and drug peddlers/addicts in their areas and identity of caller shall be kept secret.
