Johannesburg, South Africa, May 27, 2025 – An all-party parliamentary delegation from India, led by Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MP Supriya Sule, arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Tuesday as part of a multi-nation diplomatic outreach to project India’s resolute stand against terrorism. The delegation was warmly received by the High Commissioner of India to South Africa, Prabhat Kumar, at the airport.

The Group 7 delegation, comprising prominent parliamentarians including Rajiv Pratap Rudy (BJP), Vikramjit Singh Sahney (AAP), Manish Tewari (Congress), Anurag Singh Thakur (BJP), Anand Sharma (Congress), Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu (TDP), V. Muraleedharan (BJP), and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin, is on the second leg of a four-nation tour that began in Qatar. The visit, spanning May 27-29, 2025, aims to convey India’s unified message of zero tolerance for terrorism, particularly in the context of Operation Sindoor and the recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed 26 lives.

The delegation’s agenda in South Africa, the current G20 presidency holder, includes high-level meetings with political leaders, intellectuals, and institutions to build global consensus against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. This visit follows productive discussions in Doha, where the delegation engaged with Qatari dignitaries, media, academia, and the Indian diaspora to highlight India’s counter-terrorism efforts.

Supriya Sule, representing the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, emphasized the non-partisan nature of the mission, stating, “We are here as proud Indians, not as representatives of any political party. Our mission is to convey India’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms.” She expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, and the Ministry of External Affairs for entrusting her with this responsibility.

The Indian High Commission in South Africa posted on X, “Press release on 🇮🇳’s All Party Delegation led by Hon’ble MP, Smt. @Supriya_sule visit to South Africa from May 27-29, 2025, to convey India’s strong resolve of #ZeroToleranceForTerrorism. #OperationSindoor”.

The delegation’s visit to South Africa is part of a broader diplomatic initiative involving seven all-party groups visiting 33 global capitals to underscore Pakistan’s links to cross-border terrorism and clarify that the recent conflict was triggered by the Pahalgam attack, not Operation Sindoor, as alleged by Islamabad. After Johannesburg, the delegation will proceed to Ethiopia, home to the African Union, and Egypt, an influential voice in the Arab world, to further India’s global outreach.

This historic effort reflects India’s national unity and determination to combat terrorism, transcending political divides, as the delegation carries forward the country’s message of peace, harmony, and zero tolerance for terror.
