All regional parties in Jammu and Kashmir should unite to demand the restoration of statehood: Er Rashid
• Main Highlights
In today’s press conference, Engineer Rashid, leader of the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), emphasized that all regional parties in Jammu and Kashmir should unite to demand the restoration of statehood. He called for political unity among major regional groups such as the National Conference, PDP, and Congress, insisting that no government should be formed until statehood is reinstated. Rashid stressed that the priority should be to collectively press the central government for this demand, rather than focusing on individual party agendas.
Additionally, Rashid criticized the handling of properties in Delhi post-reorganization, calling for a review of the allocation of resources between Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
He also highlighted concerns over the “Darbar Move,” advocating for the restoration of this bi-annual administrative practice, which had been abolished, claiming that it is advantageous for both the regions as it is type of cultural & emotional bonding.
He also showed his anguish for not registering AIP till date by the Election Commission of India. Moreover there were other petty issues also.
