Anantnag Police Crack Down on Illicit Liquor Trade
Anantnag; 01 September 2024: In a significant achievement, Anantnag Police have arrested two individuals and seized a large quantity of illicit liquor in two separate incidents.In the first instance, a Police team from Police Post Sangam intercepted a bike bearing registration number PB08C-2618 at Panjpora Astanpora and recovered 13 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the rider, Mohd Abbas Khan, son of Gh Qadir Khan, resident of Dadoo Marhama.In the second incident, a Police team from Police Station Anantnag apprehended notorious liquor seller Mubarak Ahmad Wagay (alias Muhammad Rajab Wagay) from Khanabal Chowk and seized 65 bottles of illicit liquor along with a vehicle bearing registration number JK03C-4239.Cases have been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the law, and investigations are underway.Anantnag Police appeal to the Public to come forward with any information regarding illegal activities, assuring that all necessary actions will be taken to maintain law and order in the district.
