APNI party to support Sajad Lone in North Kashmir’s Baramulla segment: Altaf Bukhari
Srinagar, Apr 22 : Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Monday said that they will support Sajad Lone in north Kashmir’s Baramulla segment in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a press conference at party headquarters in Srinagar, Bukhari announced that his party will support Sajad Gani Lone in the Lok Sabha polls.
“Our party has fielded candidates from the Srinagar and Anantnag-Rajouri constituencies. But in north Kashmir, I am pleased to announce that we will be supporting Sajad Gani Lone there,” Bukhari as per Kashmir News Service (KNS) told reporters.
He said Apni Party’s support has brightened prospects of Lone as its several leaders wield tremendous clout in their assembly segments in North Kashmir’s Lok Sabha seat.
“Apni Party came into existence when people were craving for political representation. During last four years our party represented the aspirations of people and we are on such a stage where other political parties now believe in us and seek our support,” Bukhari said.
Hitting hard at regional political outfits including NC and PDP, Bukhari said these political groups misled people of Jammu and Kashmir for last 70 years and exploited youth over hollow slogans.
Notably Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency comprises of 15 assembly segments which include Karnah, Langate, Uri, Baramulla, Gulmarg, Kupwara, Lolab, Rafiabad, Sopore, Gurez, Bandipora, Sonawari, Sangrama, Handwara, Pattan. The constituency is all set to go for polls on May 20, 2024. (KNS)
