Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi Honors BSF Constable Harvinder Singh for Exemplary Role in Operation Sindoor

Jammu, May 17, 2025 – In a proud moment for the Border Security Force (BSF), Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, felicitated Constable Harvinder Singh of the 109 Battalion, BSF Jammu, with a prestigious Commendation Disc for his exceptional diligence and pivotal role in the preparation for Operation Sindoor. Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, was a decisive response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives. The operation targeted terror infrastructure across nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, neutralizing over 100 terrorists, including high-value targets affiliated with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
