Rajouri/Jammu, Feb 13: In a significant recovery, the Indian Army has seized a cache of explosive material, including an anti-tank mine, in a forward village near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Tarkundi area of the Rajouri-Poonch sector, security officials said on Thursday.

The operation was launched on Wednesday following a ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army. While no casualties were reported on the Indian side, Pakistan suffered heavy losses in the retaliatory action.

During the search, Army troops recovered an anti-tank mine, four activated anti-personnel mines, splinters, shovels, rope, and other allied material. Officials suspect that these explosives were smuggled from across the border with the intent to cause destruction.

Security forces have intensified search operations in the region to thwart any potential threats and prevent the use of these explosives in terror activities. The recovery highlights continued cross-border attempts to fuel unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.
