Assembly Elections 2024: 483 candidates filed nominations for the third phase

Baramulla assembly constituency has the highest number of 26 candidates, while Akhnoor, Billawar, and Gurez constituencies have the least with 5 candidates each

Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on 13th September; the last date for withdrawal of nominations is 17th September

Jammu, 12 September: A total of 483 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the 40 assembly constituencies (ACs) of seven districts in Jammu and Kashmir, which are set to vote in the third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024.Thursday was the last day for filing nomination papers for the third phase of the Assembly Elections, which are scheduled to be held on 1st October 2024.A statement from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer said that a total of 483 candidates have submitted 518 nomination papers for the third phase of the upcoming Assembly Elections 2024.In Jammu district, a total of 122 candidates have filed their nominations, followed by 111 candidates in Baramulla district, 80 in Kupwara district, 50 in Bandipora district, 47 in Kathua district, 40 in Udhampur district, and 33 candidates have filed nominations in Samba district.In the Jammu division, for the four assembly constituencies of Udhampur district, 13 candidates have filed nominations from the 59-Udhampur West constituency; 11 from the 60-Udhampur East constituency; 9 from the 61-Chenani constituency; and 7 candidates from the 62-Ramnagar (SC) constituency. For the six assembly constituencies of Kathua district, 9 candidates have filed nominations from the 63-Bani constituency; 5 from the 64-Billawar constituency; 7 from the 65-Basohli constituency; 10 from the 66-Jasrota constituency; 6 from the 67-Kathua (SC) constituency; and 10 candidates from the 68-Hiranagar constituency. In Samba district, 7 candidates have filed nominations from the 69-Ramgarh (SC) constituency; 15 from the 70-Samba constituency; and 11 candidates from the 71-Vijaypur constituency.For the 11 assembly constituencies of Jammu district, 13 candidates have filed nominations from the 72-Bishnah (SC) constituency; 14 from the 73-Suchetgarh (SC) constituency; 14 from the 74-RS Pura – Jammu South constituency; 12 from the 75-Bahu constituency; 10 from the 76-Jammu East constituency; 8 from the 77-Nagrota constituency; 13 from the 78-Jammu West constituency; 17 from the 79-Jammu North constituency; 6 from the 80-Marh (SC) constituency; 5 from the 81-Akhnoor (SC) constituency; and 10 candidates from the 82-Chhamb constituency.Similarly, in the Kashmir division, for the six assembly constituencies of Kupwara district, 12 candidates have filed nominations from the 1-Karnah constituency; 13 from the 4-Lolab constituency; 11 from the 5-Handwara constituency; and 22 candidates have filed nominations from the 6-Langate constituency.For the seven assembly constituencies of Baramulla district, 23 candidates have filed nominations from the 7-Sopore constituency; 14 from the
