Bike collided with an oil tanker on Jammu Srinagar National Highway at Nagrota: Two siblings among one youth died on the spot
Three youths including two brothers and one of their neighbourhood friend died in a tragic accident on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Nagrota in Jammu district on Sunday. Sumit, Gaurav, and Ram, residents of Janipur, aged between 18 and 21 years, were riding a two-wheeler. Their bike collided head-on with an oil tanker, killing all three on the spot. Police have started investigating the case to ascertain the cause of the accident.
Deep anger and grief has been witnessed among the locals and families after the tragic death of three youths of Janipur – Sumit, Gaurav and Ram – in a head-on collision between an oil tanker and a two-wheeler in Nagrota on Sunday. “This is a huge tragedy. It is heartbreaking to see the children die at such a young age. The loss can never be compensated for the families,” said a local resident. Some people seen questioning the administration and safety measures,”Accidents happen every day on the highway. Innocent people are losing their lives due to the high speed and negligence of trucks. The administration should take strict action,” expressed a shopkeeper.
The families of the victims said that they were in deep shock after the incident. A relative got emotional and said, “We had dreams for the future of our children, but an accident destroyed everything.”
The people have demanded that strict speed control of vehicles on the highway should be done and special safety standards should be implemented for trucks. “If the administration pays attention in time, such incidents can be prevented,” suggested a social worker.
This accident has created an atmosphere of mourning in the entire area and people are expecting the administration to take concrete steps to prevent accidents.
