Samba, August 31, 2024 – A tense situation unfolded today in the Sumb area of Samba during an election program organized by Surjit Singh Salathia, the former minister and now BJP candidate from the Samba constituency. Before the main event, a meeting of the BJP’s Sumb Mandal Committee took place, which quickly turned into a scene of chaos.The trouble began when an ex-Sarpanch, who now serves as the Vice President of the BJP’s OBC cell, attended the meeting. According to eyewitnesses, the Mandal Committee President asked the ex-Sarpanch to leave, citing that the meeting was exclusively for committee members. However, the ex-Sarpanch, allegedly acting on directives from higher-ups, refused to leave the venue and insisted on participating.This led to a verbal confrontation between the ex-Sarpanch and members of the Mandal Committee, which soon escalated into a physical altercation. Witnesses reported that the ex-Sarpanch was allegedly beaten by some members of the committee during the scuffle.Following the arrival of Surjit Singh Salathia, the ex-Sarpanch narrated the entire incident to him. However, the matter had already spiraled out of control, leaving the ex-Sarpanch visibly distressed.This incident has sparked widespread discussion in Samba town and the surrounding areas.
