BSF Jawan Purnam Kumar Sahu Returned to India After Inadvertently Crossing Pakistan Border

Ferozepur, May 15, 2025:
Border Security Force (BSF) jawan Purnam Kumar Sahu, who had inadvertently crossed the Pakistan border while on duty in the Ferozepur sector on April 23, 2025, has been handed back to India by the Pakistan Rangers on 14th of May.

According to official sources, Sahu accidentally entered Pakistani territory during routine patrolling along the India-Pakistan international border. He was subsequently taken into custody by the Pakistan Rangers.

Following sustained communication and flag meetings between the BSF and Pakistan Rangers, Sahu was safely repatriated this afternoon. BSF officials confirmed that he is in good health and expressed gratitude for the coordination that facilitated his return.

Further internal inquiry is expected to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
