Chairman DLSA Samba chairs UTRC Meeting
SAMBA, JULY 15: District Legal Services Authority, Samba as per the directions of National Legal Services Authority conducted Second Undertrial Review Committee meeting as per Schedule which was launched by National Legal Services Authority on 15th of July, 2024 for conducting UTRC meeting for the year 2024. The main objective of launch of this Schedule by NALSA is to enhance the efficacy and impact of the UTRC meetings by establishing a fixed quarterly schedule for UTRC meetings for the year 2024.The meeting was chaired by Pr. District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman DLSA, Samba, Adnan Sayeed, with the members of Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) Samba. In the meeting, the Committee reviewed cases of eligible UTPs/Prisoners shortlisted by the Secretary, DLSA Samba for consideration. The Committee considered 34 cases of UTPs/Prisoners out of which 5 Cases were recommended for release. The meeting was attended by Rekha Kapoor Nischal, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Samba, Umesh Sharma, SDM Vijaypur on behalf of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Vinay Kumar Senior Superintendent of Police Samba.. Besides Verinder Bhat Sr. Superintendent, Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Koushal Kumar, Superintendent, District Jail Kathua, Harish Kotwal, Superintendent District Jail Amphala, Jammu and Iqbal Ahmed Kohli, Head Warden on behalf of Superintendent District Jail Poonch also joined the meeting through Virtual mode.
