CM & Agri Minister lead review on J&K’s rural growth: Launch ‘Har Didi Ek Kahani’ celebrating SHG success

Srinagar, July 3, 2025: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spearheaded a high-level review meeting today, focusing on the region’s agriculture and rural development. The meeting assessed the physical and financial progress of key schemes, highlighting sectoral achievements and charting a path for sustainable rural growth in J&K.

In a significant highlight of the day, the leaders launched ‘Har Didi Ek Kahani’, a compendium celebrating the inspiring success stories of over 100 women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The book showcases how these women, often referred to as “Lakhpati Didis,” have transformed their lives through entrepreneurial ventures and community-driven initiatives, becoming role models for economic empowerment. The event, attended by Cabinet Minister Javed Rana, underscores the government’s commitment to fostering rural prosperity and women’s empowerment in J&K.
