Confusion Over School Closure in Samba Resolved by DC Samba

Samba, May 7 — In light of the prevailing situation, all schools, colleges, and educational institutions in the districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch were ordered to remain closed today, as per the directive issued by the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and posted on X (formerly Twitter) earlier this morning.
However, initial confusion arose in Samba district regarding whether teaching staff were also required to attend school. While students were clearly granted a holiday, reports indicated that the Zonal Education Office (ZEO) Samba was instructing teachers to report for duty, sparking uncertainty among the teaching community.
A teacher, speaking to Samba Times on condition of anonymity, said, “There was no clarity. Despite the closure order, instructions were being given for teachers to attend school.”
The matter was brought to the attention of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Samba who is known for his integrity & dedication by Samba Times, who promptly intervened and resolved the issue. As per new reports both students and teachers are not required to attend school today and the confusion had been addressed.
With the clarification issued by the district administration, the situation now stands resolved and all educational staff can observe the closure as intended.
