DC Samba Abhishek Sharma suspended Mr. Lavinder Singh, Junior Engineer PWD (R&B) for poor progress of Samba- Sumb Road

DC Samba Abhishek Sharma suspended Mr. Lavinder Singh, Junior Engineer PWD (R&B) for poor progress of Samba- Sumb Road. The official communique with Samba Times reads that:

Whereas, on 18.11.2023, undersigned along with Tehsildar Samba and Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Samba conducted physical verification of under construction Samba-Sumb Road and it is found that progress of work of construction of bridges on the said road to be extremely poor; and

Whereas, worthy Chief Secretary, J&K during review meeting of district Samba held on 29-09-2023, expressed his displeasure for the slow progress of construction work of Samba-Sumb Road. Even today, during the physical verification, no construction site was found active and no construction work was going on; and

Whereas, Mr. Lavinder Singh, Junior Engineer, PWD (R&B) Samba-Sumb Road was found unauthorizedly absent from the duties and also seems to be responsible for poor progress of construction work of Samba-Sumb Road; and

Whereas, unauthorized absence from the duties is not only a violation of service conduct rules, but raises serious concerns regarding the commitment of the Govt employee.

For the above-mentioned reasons, Mr. Lavinder Singh, Junior Engineer, PWD (R&B) Samba-Sumb Road is hereby placed under suspension with immediate effect in terms of Rule 31 of J&K Civil Services (CC&A) Rules, 1956 for his unauthorized absence from duties and poor performance. The official shall remain attached in the office of the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Samba during the period of suspension. It is further ordered that Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Vijaypur shall conduct an enquiry in the matter and submit a detailed report to this office within 10 days.
