DC Samba Chairs Block Divas at Panchayat Rehian
Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired the Block Divas at Panchayat Rehain, an initiative focused on addressing the issues and grievances of the local community. The event saw active participation from DDC Member, ACR, Exen Jal Shakti, Tehsildar, BDO, AEE PDD, CDPO, former PRIs, and a large number of local residents.
Several concerns were raised by the general public during the Block Divas, including the unsafe condition of a health department building, the need for additional inclusion of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), pending payments under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), demarcation of land near the cremation ground, water supply shortages, and the replacement of a damaged transformer at Panjtila.
Responding to these issues, DC Samba took immediate action by directing the Exen PWD to submit a report on the status of the health department building. He also instructed the Tehsildar to carry out the demarcation and fencing of state land near the cremation ground. The BDO was directed to expedite the release of payments to genuine beneficiaries under the SBM after thorough verification. Additionally, the Exen Jal Shakti was tasked with ensuring water supply to every household under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). The DC also ordered the replacement of the damaged transformer at Panjtila and the appointment of a new Namberdar at Rehian.
In his address, DC Samba highlighted the importance of maintaining a strong connection with the general public at the grassroots level to ensure timely resolution of their grievances. He urged the officers to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing the community’s needs.
