DC Samba chairs border security meeting: Discuss various issues

Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Abhishek Sharma today chaired the border security meeting at Conference Hall, DC office Samba to discuss various issues faced by Security forces and general public near international border.

At the outset, DC appreciated the efforts of all officers/officials from civil administration and security forces for high voter turnout in border areas in the recent Lok Sabha Elections, 2024.

The meeting discussed various issues related to the ongoing and proposed projects of the Irrigation and Flood control department and Rural development department near IB.

DC emphasized that the permissions should be timely granted to the farmers for cultivation beyond fence, identify dairies for collection of fodder, installation of portable toilets, also maintain the record of permissions granted to farmers & visitors, labour verification, rental verifications and also verification of vehicles frequently visiting in these areas.

DC Samba stressed on the Nanga wetland reserves having huge potential for tourism promotion because of being abode to diverse specifies of birds from different corners of the world. He directed Wildlife warden to install camera traps for recording animal migration.

Furthermore, he directed to spread awareness among farmers regarding reward schemes in case of detecting the movement of any drone or locating any tunnel near border areas.

Among others the meeting was attended by SSP Samba, Vinay kumar, ADC Samba, Suresh Sharma, representative from BSF including 2IC and Deputy Commandant, ACR Samba, Kusum Chib, SDM Gaghwal, SDM Vijaypur and other district officers.
