DC Samba Holds Block Diwas Program at Samba

Deputy Commissioner Samba, Abhishek Sharma, chaired a Block Diwas Camp at the Community Hall, Samba. The event aimed to listen to and resolve various concerns of the community, promoting the overall welfare and development of the area.

The program saw participation from various stakeholders, including ex-PRIs, officers from all line departments, and prominent citizens of the Samba district.

During the Grievance Redressal Camp, numerous public delegations and individuals presented their developmental concerns to the DC, seeking timely resolutions. Key issues raised included the establishment of a Sabzi Mandi at Samba, parking facility in Samba for vehicles moving towards the border area, Kandi to Ambtali road, Chak Sadralia road, insufficient water supply in a few wards of Panchayat Diana, playfield in Panchayat Diani, seating arrangement in District Hospital near OPD, traffic congestion in Samba town, proposal of a ring road in Samba town, and electricity cuts in a few areas.

The public appreciated the facility of a WhatsApp number provided by the District Administration for registering their grievances for redressal. They also lauded the decision of holding Block Diwas for the resolution of grievances of the general public.

DC Abhishek Sharma assured the public that the District Administration would actively support the development of the area. He promised that all issues and demands would be forwarded to the concerned authorities for timely redressal. He directed the concerned departments to submit an action taken report within two days.

Several immediate concerns were resolved on the spot, with the DC emphasizing the administration’s commitment to streamlining public service delivery. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to identify and approve additional developmental projects.

Simultaneously, weekly Block Diwas camps were organized at all subdivision levels within the Samba district, where respective sub-divisional heads presided over the functions, listening to and addressing the grievances of the people.
