DISTRICT POLICE KISHTWAR SEIZED UN-ACCOUNTED CASH OF Rs. 5,00,000 (FIVE LAKH) AT INTER-DISTRICT NAKA PAARNA CHINGAM

Kishtwar: SSP Kishtwar, Shri Abdul Qayoom-JKPS, demonstrated a firm commitment to upholding the integrity and transparency of the electoral process. Following the directives of the Election Commission of India, individuals are reminded that carrying more than 50 thousand rupees in cash is prohibited during the electoral period. This regulation is vital to ensure the fairness and impartiality of elections.

During a routine naka checking conducted at the inter-district naka Paarna Chingam Chatroo, Kishtwar, a significant discovery was made by SHO PS Chatroo, Insp Vikram Singh, and assisted by PSI Pintu Raina yesterday.

An unaccountable amount of cash, totaling Rs 500,000 (5 lakhs), was seized from the possession of Mohd Ashraf Reshi, son of Abdul Aziz Reshi, a resident of Deller Chatroo. Mr. Reshi was traveling from Gadool Anantnag in a Tavera Taxi bearing registration number JK02AV 1937.

This enforcement action reaffirms the authorities’ dedication to maintaining the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring strict adherence to the Election Commission’s directives.

The seized cash was promptly handed over to the Election Flying Squad Team (FST) in Chatroo, in strict compliance with established protocols and procedures.
