District Police Udhampur organizes free medical cum drug de-addiction awareness camp in DPL Udhampur

July 20th Udhampur: District Police Udhampur under the aegis of Civic Action Programme, organised a free medical cum drug de-addiction awareness programme at DPL Udhampur in collaboration with GMC Udhampur.

A team of doctors namely Dr. Roopika Jandial (Psychiatrist) and Dr. Chandani Wani (Psychiatrist) from GMC Udhampur accompanied by Ms. Devika Sharma Councilor Drug de- addiction Centre DPL Udhampur participated as health experts in the camp.

The Camp offered free consultation to around fifty-five (55) persons including students of Govt. degree college for Boys.. The main aim of the medical camp was to provide access to medical check-up and medicines and to generate awareness about drug de-addiction.

The attending patients/visitors availed free medical consultation from the visiting team of specialist doctors. The team of doctors also briefed the patients/visitors and their attendants about signs and symptoms of drug addiction. They were also made aware of medical treatments available for de-addiction, which could be life saving for severe addicts.They were urged to spread awareness among their near and dear ones that addiction can be treated with timely medical attention.

The efforts of District Police Udhampur were met with appreciation and gratitude from the people. By conducting such camp, District Police Udhampur has displayed their commitment to providing healthcare services to every individual in need. This camp marked the first in a series of similar events that the district intends to organize in the future.

Later in the closing address, Addl. SP Udhampur Sh. Baljit Singh thanked to the team of doctors to generate awareness about this major health hazard and its adverse impact on the society. Among others present on the occassion were DySP DAR DPL Udhampur Sh. Bhutto Choudhary, DYSP Hqrs Udhampur Sh. Prehlad Kumar and other officers of the district.
