Dog saved the lives of the children in Village Hunded from leopard: Brutally injured

Last night, a dog was brutally injured by a leopard in the Sumb hill area, due to which a panic wave has spread among the people. The hilly area of Sumb, which is called ‘Dhar’ in the local language, yesterday night when Panch Bhag Singh & his brother’s children of Hunded village were coming home at night, their pet dog was also with them. Suddenly when the dog started barking, they saw that there was a leopard at a distance. On seeing this children ran away making noise and the dog started barking at the leopard. If the dog was not with them, the leopard could have done anything and the children could have lost their lives, but the dog, showing its loyalty, attacked the leopard due to which the dog was brutally injured. Due to this, an atmosphere of panic has spread among the people that the leopard might attack anyone in their area again. Leopards etc. often roam in these areas in search of food. They keep roaming near the camps of Bakarwals in search of prey and if they do not get food, they attack dogs etc. These leopards sometimes try to eat the goats kept by the people in the village and often attack the village dogs who bark at the sight of them. Dogs have been injured in the way before. Often, if you go to these villages, they never allow you to return home at night because there is a possibility of such attacks. Therefore, an atmosphere of fear has spread among the people. It is our request to the administration and the wildlife that if the leopard has entered their area then arrangements should be made for their safety as well so that the wild animals which are a very important part of our wildlife can also be saved & so the people.

सुंब पहाड़ी क्षेत्र में कल रात को एक कुत्ते को एक चीते ने बुरी तरह से फाड़ डाला जिससे लोगों में एक दहशत का माहौल व्याप्त हो गया है। सुंब के पहाड़ी क्षेत्र से ऊपर वाले जो पहाड़ है जिनको लोकल भाषा में ‘धार’ कहते हैं वहां पर कल रात हंडड गांव के पंच भाग सिंह और उनके भाई के बच्चे जब रात को घर आ रहे थे तो उनके साथ उनके पालतू कुत्ता भी था। अचानक कुत्ते के भौंकने पर उन्होंने देखा तो थोड़ी दूर पर चीता था जिससे बच्चे शोर मचाते हुए भाग निकले और कुत्ता चीते पर भौंकने लगा। अगर कुत्ता उनके साथ नहीं होता तो चीता कुछ भी कर सकता था और बच्चों की जान भी जा सकती थी लेकिन कुत्ते ने अपनी वफादारी दिखाते हुए चीते पर हमला कर दिया जिससे कुत्ता बुरी तरह से घायल हो गया और बच्चे शोर मचाते हुए घर आ पहुंचे। इससे लोगों में एक दहशत का माहौल व्याप्त हो गया है की चीता कहीं फिर से उनके इलाके में कहीं कोई वारदात न कर दे। अक्सर इन पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में चीतों आदि का आगमन होता रहता है जो कि अपने खाने की तलाश में अक्सर इन इलाकों में फिरते रहते हैं यह बकरवालों के डेरे के पास शिकार की तलाश में घूमते रहते हैं और कभी खाना न मिलने पर वह कुत्तों आदि पर अपना प्रहार करते हैं। यह चीते कई बार गांव में रखी हुई लोगों की बकरियों को खाने की फिराक में भी रहते हैं और गांव के कुत्तों पर, जो कि इनको देखकर भौंकते हैं, अक्सर हमला करते हैं। इस तरह से कुत्ते पहले भी घायल होते रहे हैं। अक्सर इन गांव में अगर आप चले जांए तो यह रात को आपको कभी भी घर वापिस नहीं जाने देते क्योंकि ऐसे हमले होने की संभावना बनी रहती है। इसलिए लोगों में डर का माहौल व्याप्त हो गया है। हमारा यह प्रशासन से और वाइल्डलाइफ वालों से अनुरोध है कि अगर चीता उनके इलाके में घुस आया है तो उनकी सुरक्षा के प्रबंध किया जाए ताकि जंगली जानवर जो कि हमारे वन्य जीवन के और हमारे जीवन के भी बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण भाग है है वह भी बचाए रखे जा सकें और लोगों को भी कोई नुकसान ना हो।
