Ramgarh, November 9: Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, the MLA from Ramgarh, received a grand welcome from party workers and local residents as he returned from Srinagar. He criticized the Omar-led Government for passing what he termed an “illegal and unconstitutional” resolution, which he argued lacked “constitutional validity” and “sanctity.” He voiced concerns over the Speaker’s role, accusing them of acting as an “agent” for a political party. Dr. Manyal noted that the resolution’s content reflected the mindset of the newly formed government and expressed his disappointment over its focus, particularly in hinting at Article 370, which had been abrogated by the Parliament and upheld by the Supreme Court.Dr. Manyal also discussed his engagement in an important meeting held on November 8, 2024, where a BJP delegation led by Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma met with Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Commissioner Secretary Mandeep Kour of the Housing & Urban Development Department. The delegation raised concerns about the ongoing sanitation workers’ strike in urban local bodies, urging the government to take swift action to resolve the issue and restore uninterrupted services for the public.Additionally, Dr. Manyal advocated for extending the benefits of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme to local allottees and West Pakistan Refugees, similar to the assistance provided to PoJK refugees.Reaffirming BJP’s commitment, Dr. Manyal assured the gathering that the party remains dedicated to protecting the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, ensuring their concerns are addressed, and safeguarding essential public services.
