Dr. Raghav Langer Appointed as Secretary of National Medical Commission

New Delhi, March 21, 2025: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Dr. Raghav Langer as the Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Dr. Langer, a 2009-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to this appointment, he served as Director in the Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. His career also includes significant positions such as Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, Secretary of Planning in Jammu & Kashmir, and District Magistrate of both Kathua and Pulwama districts.

Dr. Langer’s diverse administrative background is expected to enhance the functioning of the NMC, the apex regulatory body overseeing medical education and practice in India.
